History

Grupo Capoeira Brasil is one of the largest Capoeira organizations in the world. It was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1989, and now has branches worldwide. The Chicago branch was founded in 2008, and has been led by Formada Colibri since 2013.

Specialties

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that incorporates elements of music, dance, and acrobatics. Formada Colibri is a black belt teacher with over 30 years of experience, and is one of the highest ranking women in capoeira today. Beginners are welcome.
