History
Colomba grew up in a home where her mother always prepared flavorful meals much like the ones she'd been raised on herself in Mexico and this is where Colomba's love of great tasting food began. Later in life, travels throughout Latin America where she cooked with and learned from many families became Colomba's driving inspiration to attend culinary school. Upon graduating from the California Culinary Academy, the turquoise beaches of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula beckoned and the budding chef began an internship at Maroma Resort and Spa. There, Colomba experienced the most unique and delicious foods ever and decided that someday, she would open her own business serving up the incredible foods she'd learned to create. Aside from exotic foods that made her smile, the Yucatan also gave Colomba another tremendous gift: Carlos! The couple married and made their way to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where they opened Cafe Carambola. They continue to search out and experience new flavors to serve up!
