The College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource Management (CAFNRM) at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo is dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive education in agricultural sciences. With a focus on production, management, processing, distribution, marketing, sales, and services, CAFNRM offers a Bachelor of Science degree in three areas of specialization: Animal Health and Management, Aquaculture, and Tropical Agroecology. In addition, non-Agriculture majors can pursue a Minor in Agriculture, and academic subject certificates are available for both degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking students.
Located on the Big Island of Hawai'i, CAFNRM utilizes the University's Agricultural Farm Laboratory to provide hands-on learning experiences for students. With 110 acres of land, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in various agricultural enterprises, including anthuriums, ornamental foliage, hydroponics, floriculture plants, orchids, forestry, vegetables, sustainable agriculture, livestock production, equine science, beekeeping, tropical fruit, and aquaculture. The College also offers excellent facilities on campus, including classrooms and laboratories for courses in horticulture, animal science, entomology, plant pathology, tissue culture, and soil science.
