Founded in 1976, the Georgia World Congress Center is one of the largest convention facilities in the United States. The state-owned and operated center strives for the economic development of businesses and individuals in the State of Georgia. It features an exhibit space of more than 1 million square feet. The center also offers utility, information technology, technical and audiovisual services for several trade shows. The Georgia World Congress Center has meeting rooms, galleries, kitchens and storerooms. It operates Thomas Murphy Ballroom, which is spread across an area of over 30,000 square feet. The center also organizes dinner functions and special events. The Georgia World Congress Center is operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.
