Nations Traffic School

West Area Adult School is a learning center that is a part of Polk County Public Schools. The school provides a variety of programs for students over 16 years of age. Gary Adult High School also provides family literacy, GED testing and industrial technology programs. The school offers an adult cooperative training program that focuses in the development of social and independent living skills in people with disabilities. It provides an on-site job training program that includes merchandise handling, stocking and employment skills development topics. The school additionally offers apprenticeship programs in the fields of carpentry, child care, electricity and diesel technology.
