History
Methodism came to Florida with the circuit riders in the early 1800s. Greenville Methodist was established 16 June 1884 when trustees George Hampton, Joel Redding and Thomas Redding paid $100 for the land upon which the church now stands. Greenville Methodist became a full station church with 71 members in 1956-57. In 1969 it officially became Greenville United Methodist Church. Greenville UMC and Cherry Lake UMC formed a two-church circuit in 1973. The church celebrated 130 years of service in 2014.
