Established in 1902, the Children's Home Society of Florida, also known as CHS, is one of the leading private, nonprofit organizations that provide a variety of services for children and families. It offers various individual counseling, therapeutic foster care, and child abuse prevention and intervention services. The organization administers several residential and group home, adoption, mentoring and family preservation programs. The Children's Home Society of Florida also offers a variety of services related to single parenthood, parenting skills, substance abuse, family discord, abuse recovery, and medically and emotionally challenged children. It is approved by the Council on Accreditation, also known as COA. The Children's Home Society of Florida maintains more than 200 locations, with one in Panama City, Fla.
