Operation Understanding DC is a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, dedicated to creating a generation of community leaders who promote respect, understanding, and cooperation while fighting against racism, anti-Semitism, and all forms of discrimination. Through their Social Justice Fellowship program, high school juniors are empowered to challenge prejudice and educate their communities on social justice issues.
Founded in 1993 by Karen Kalish, Operation Understanding DC has worked with over 600 young leaders, building bridges between communities and empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together and create positive change.
