Newman Bookstore was founded in 1955 and subsequently became part of the Paulist Press. Today we are located in the Paulist seminary in DC -- St. Paul's College, next to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and just south of the Basilica and the Catholic University of America campus. We offer a wide variety of books Catholic and catholic on the themes of Catholic religious thought: philosophy, theology, history, spirituality, ethics, bibles, biblical studies, rites, liturgy, liturgical studies, Vatican and USCCB documents, canon law, homiletics, RCIA and pastoral ministry, Augustine, Aquinas, John Paul II, Benedict XVI. We also have videos, music CDs, audio tapes and CDs, CD-Rom reference, and religious gifts of statues, crucifixes, rosaries, icons, and others. Newman Bookstore has an active list of approximately 25000 titles. The bookstore is associated with the name of Cardinal Newman. John Henry Newman, venerated on 22 January 1991 by John Paul II, will be made blessed this coming 19 September 2010 by Benedict XVI. Newman was a 19th C. English theologian, a convert to Catholicism, a prolific author, and highly influential thinker.
