Founded in 1964, the Delaware Nature Society is the pre-eminent non-profit environmental organization in the state. This position has been well earned through its long-term and consistently active preservation, conservation and advocacy programs. Delaware Nature Society is unique in the way it integrates education as a vital element in its role in preservation, conservation and advocacy.

The Delaware Nature Society's mission is to foster an understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the natural world through education. We do that every day at locations statewide. Delaware Nature Society also works to preserve ecologically significant areas and advocates stewardship and conservation of natural resources. Come join us for fun, innovative nature programming, ranging from bird walks to cooking classes, outdoor yoga to kayaking. Our locations include Ashland Nature Center in Hockessin, Coverdale Farm Preserve in Greenville, DuPont Environmental Education Center in Wilmington, and Abbott's Mill Nature Center in Milford. In addition to our regular programming, Delaware Nature Society hosts several special events throughout the year, Don't miss Farm to Fork, a farm-to-table al fresco feast held each spring and fall, and the Harvest Moon Festival, the first weekend in October.
