The town bought the first half of what is now William E. Wolfe Park in 1967 and developed it with federal, state and local funds.
It has grown significantly over the years to include a pool, basketball and tennis courts, a football field, several baseball diamonds and soccer fields, playgrounds and picnic areas.
One part of the park is dedicated to concerts and Great Hollow Lake offers a beach experience, with fishing, row boating and hiking and biking trails.
This summer Wolfe Park celebrated the opening of a brand new pool, which replaced the old one on the Cutlers Farm Road side of the park.
