The Noroton Fire Department is a full-service real estate agency that has been serving the community of Darien, Conn., since 1896. It is a volunteer organization that coordinates responses to emergency calls and extinguish fires so as to minimize the loss of lives, damage to property and economic impact. The fire department provides a variety of fire and rescue services. In addition to the traditional fire department responsibilities of structural firefighting, the Noroton Fire Department responds to marine emergencies on Long Island, such as motor vehicle accidents, gas leaks and other types of emergencies. Its fleet is comprised of fire extinguisher engines, medium-duty rescue vehicles, fire and rescue boats, and utility and ladder trucks. The fire department supports several public education programs related to home fire prevention and safety.

Rye Brook Fire Department

The Rye Brook Police Department has 28 officers and one administrative staff person. The department is responsible for various policing duties, such as handling reports of crime. It administers crime prevention programs for residents, schools and senior citizens, providing instruction about preventative measures that can be taken for the essential safety of the community. D.A.R.E. is among one of the crime prevention programs.

Vista Fire Department

The Vista Volunteer Fire Department, located on Smith Ridge Road (Rte 123), was established in 1941 to serve the small community of Vista. Those interested in joining the department can download a form from its website and return it to the Vista Fire Department with a $5 application fee. Residents of an adjoining fire district, as well as those of Vista itself, can apply.

Weston Volunteer Fire Department Station 1

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department is a nonprofit organization — not a town agency — that helps ensure Weston residents are safe from fire. In addition to routine fire work, the department responds to car accidents and helps educate the public about fire safety, among other things. The Norfield Road fire station is one of the town's two fire stations, with the other located on Lyons Plains Road.
