The Intensive Education Academy, also known as IEA, is a nonprofit, private, special education facility that serves children between the ages of 5 and 21. Founded in 1971, the academy offers a range of educational and enrichment activities for students with learning disabilities in New England. It enrolls students in kindergarten through grade 12. The Intensive Education Academy s curriculum includes mathematics, science, social studies and language arts. The academy provides counseling services and occupational and speech therapies. It also hosts sessions in art, music and physical education. The Intensive Education Academy organizes educational field trips and on-site special events. The academy administers individual tutorial, prevocational training and job coaching programs.
