Greater New Haven Transit District is a governmental agency established in 1973 under the provisions of Connecticut Public Act. It is one of the 14 regional transit districts in the state of Connecticut. It operates and provides a variety of transportation programs and services. It also provides vehicles to municipalities and community agencies in the Greater New Haven region for their respective transportation programs. The agency provides public transportation services in south central Connecticut for various programs, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, regional rides program and regional growth connection shoreline shuttle. Its paratransit program provides door-to-door transportation to certified individuals who are unable to use the fixed route bus service due to permanent and temporary disabilities. The agency is located in Greater New Haven, Conn.
