The Division of Criminal Justice is one of the departments of the government of Colorado that provides public protection services. It operates the Office of Domestic Violence and Sex Offender Management, which offers evaluation, treatment and behavioral monitoring services. The division s community corrections unit provides intensive residential treatment, pretrial supervision and diversion programs. In addition, the Division of Criminal Justice conducts program audits and site visits. The division also operates the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Council, which is comprised of more than 30 members appointed by the governor and monitors justice trends. In addition, it offers compliance, victim compensation and law enforcement programs. The Division of Criminal Justice is a part of the Colorado Department of Public Safety, which operates state patrol, investigation and fire safety divisions.
