Sports Authority Field is a stadium located in Denver, Colorado. Sports Authority Field currently houses the NFL team the Denver Broncos. The stadium was built to replace the aging Mile High Stadium. It opened as Invesco Field at Mile High on September 10, 2001 with the construction taking just over a two years at a cost of just over $400 million, $520 million in present day dollars. In 2011 Sports Authority secured a $150 million naming rights deal renaming the stadium Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
The Denver Broncos are two time Super Bowl Champions and are members of the West Division of the American Football Conference within the NFL. They are known by their team colors consisting of navy blue, orange and white. The current owner of the Denver Broncos is Pat Bowlen.
The stadium currently holds 76,125 fans. There are 132 luxury suites and over 30 sections of seats at the club level. Currently, it was the sixth largest stadium in the NFL. Sports Authority Field is also a great venue for concerts and has hosted such musicians like U2 and other major events such as the 2008 Democratic National Convention. During the convention over 84,000 people were in attendance.
In addition the Denver Outlaws a MLL team use Sports Authority Field for their home games. The stadium also hosts the annual rivalry game between the University of Colorado at Boulder Buffalos and the Colorado State University Rams.
The majority of tickets for Broncos’ games are sold out and there is an extensive waitlist for season tickets with over 40,000 names. For single ticket games Broncos’ fans can typically find available tickets at ticket exchanges.
