History

Brooklyn Bicycles is now Uptown Bicycles! Richie started Brooklyn Bicycles in 2011 at the Normal Heights store. We will always take pride in our Brooklyn roots and we will continue to provide the neighborhood bike shop feel that the Brooklyn Bicycles name represented. But the shop has expanded to our second location, and we are also expanding into a nationwide online retailer. Uptown Bicycles better fits this expansion. Our new name also represents our position among other bike shops in San Diego. The name, Uptown Bicycles, and our new logo represent the urban bicycling that is growing in San Diego, and around the country. We are your commuter bike shop, and we provide everything you need for biking around town. With the name change, not much else will change....Being an approachable bike shop will continue to be our goal. We hope to make your participation in the bicycling community easy, fun and safe.

We take pride in being able to find you reputable products, but things that not everyone has....our primary bike brands are Cinelli, KHS, Wilier, Turn, All-City, Look, Ritchey and Benno. A cool part of San Diego :) lots to look at and easy to get around. All the businesses are packing in tightly so lots of things are close to each other.
