Conceived in a basement overlooking Moonstone Beach (yes, hillside basements in Cambria can have nice views), Todd Clift and his dad, Muril, began making wine in 1998. The hobby quickly got out of control, and blossomed into a full time passion. Todd chucked his corporate job to become an apprentice at local winery, just six miles south of Cambria. Under the tutelage of a 21-year winemaker who has won over 500 awards, he worked through four crush seasons before releasing his first vintages. Todd proudly crafts his wines from Central Coast grapes. Moonstone Cellars offers a wide range of varietals from a light and crisp Sauvignon Blanc to an off-dry Gewurztraminer; a supple Grenache to a full bodied Petite Sirah. Come visit us at our tasting room in in the West Village of Cambria (just blocks from the original hillside basement). We are open daily from 11 to 5.

Came here after breakfast and excited to try it. I got a wine taste. Many of the wines offered are out of Paso Robles region which we really connect with. For some reason we didn't really connect...

We took a drive to the coast and found Moonstone Cellars on Yelp. We had a white flight and a red flight and enjoyed all of the reds and few whites. There were quite a few locals enjoying wine....
