Continental Sales Company, established to provide international distribution for Valley Fruit & Produce, stores, packages and ships fresh fruits and vegetables worldwide. Its ten sales departments supply customers with produce from growers worldwide. The company has a 91,000 square foot warehouse with 23 truck positions for loading and receiving, more than eight double and 10 single banana ripening rooms and six racked cold storage rooms that accommodate more than 90 truckloads of fresh produce. In 1981, Continental Sales was established in an effort to respond to out-of-state and overseas customers that expressed interest in buying from Valley Fruit and Produce. In 2000, the two companies merged but continued to operate independently. Continental Sales, recognized as a premier shipping company, is located in Los Angeles.
