The John Anson Ford Theatres complex is one of the oldest performing arts venues in Los Angeles still in use. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the venue consists of the 1,200-seat Ford Amphitheatre and intimate 87-seat [Inside] the Ford theatre.

Los Angeles Comedy Festival

The Los Angeles Comedy Festival is an annual exhibition of comedic films and live performance. It also has a screenplay competition. Through eight events, the festival claims to have showcased "1,700 performers and 300 films from Los Angeles and around the world" with an emphasis on "'discovering' great comedic talent and promoting it to both the entertainment industry and the Los Angeles public." Performer applications, available online via the above weblink, are accepted throughout the year. The festival runs for two weeks in May and periodically sponsors special events around the country. Mainstay venues are Theatre Asylum and the ACME Comedy Theatre.
