Meditation is taught and practiced in the Davis Center according to methods first established by Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. "Shambhala" may be loosely intrepreted as a place of enlightenment gained through understanding, by silently meditating, of one's own "joys and suffering."
You do not need, however, to be a practicing Buddhist in order to participate. The Davis Center offers free introductory meetings where anyone may learn about the methods of meditation, try it for themselves and then hear a talk afterwards.
