History
David Wright has been involved in alternative architectural design since the 1960's. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, he has also taken advanced study at Harvard University. As a Peace Corps Architect volunteer in Tunisia and Guinea, Africa, he became involved in traditional and alternative methods of environmental design. He has lived and practiced architecture in Santa Fe, NM, The Sea Ranch, CA and Nevada City, CA designing over 500 passive solar and alternative construction buildings, both residential and commercial/institutional. Nationally certified as an Architect (N.C.A.R.B.), he has been licensed to practice in several states and can work throughout the United States, as well as overseas. He has written several books on passive solar architecture and has been published in many periodicals and books including: Sunset Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Architecture Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, National Geographic.
