History
In my former life, I was a paralegal in the San Francisco Bay Area and a counselor supporting individuals transitioning from addiction and emotional pain to spiritual well-being. Throughout my life I have been drawn to learning about spiritual traditions and philosophy. Working one-on-one with gifted spiritual teachers has allowed me the capacity to assist others in realizing their inner path and truth. In 2001, I received my certification in massage therapy and have enjoyed helping people through bodywork ever since. In 2012, I completed training in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy and have combined it with my other skills to offer individuals a natural, effective and drug-free approach to health, well-being and relief from a variety conditions.
Specialties
I offer private sessions in Craniosacral Therapy, Somato-emotional Release, spiritual development, as well as individual and group classes in Pilates-based movement therapy. Upledger Craniosacral therapy is a specific light touch, manual therapy that comes from the Osteopathic tradition of healing. Craniosacral is practiced fully clothed and more resembles acupressure or gentle chiropractic. It is used as a primary treatment for all manner of issues related to stress, trauma, addiction recovery, pre and post-surgery, post-dental procedures, learning disabilities, improving performance (sports, academic, professional) and deepening mindful awareness; but can also be used as an adjunct therapy to enhance other forms of healing or medical treatment (i.e. cancer treatment, chiropractic). It is intended to release tension and restrictions held in the fascia and nervous system allowing your body and mind to deeply relax and self-correct. Often, people experience better alignment, flexibility, range of motion and relief from chronic pain, dysfunction and many symptoms associated with stress and imbalance. Combined with Somato-emotional Release for emotional clarity and spiritual understanding, Craniosacral Therapy offers a grounded, holistic and comprehensive approach to wellness.
