In 1998, Pastor Steve Chappell came back to his native Southern California to start the Coastline Baptist Church. This sizeable church in the Oceana Community shopping center not only looks out onto the Pacific Ocean from the top of a hill, but also has a large auditorium and multiple offices. Services consist of passionate worship and Bible study, free doughnuts and coffee, and lots of fun music lead by a choir and instrumental teams. There is even have a children's ministry called "Treasure Island" for those in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church

Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church is right next to MiraCosta College's San Elijo campus on Manchester Avenue. The striking white building with giant golden dome was built in 1989. During the day the sun creates an image of the cross on the dome that was not intended by architects, considered by some to be a miracle. The church began in 1979 in a school in Solana Beach and has continued to grow after moving to Cardiff. The church is also serves as a community center for the Greek community of San Diego County, with youth groups and ministries, dance groups and a senior center.
