California Association of Professional Scientists is the representative body of more than 3,000 scientists working for the state of California. Its members hold graduate degrees in different scientific disciplines, such as nematology, virology, seismology, epidemiology and toxicology. The association represents its members in legislative matters, contract negotiations and individual personnel actions. Every member receives CAPSule, a monthly newsletter, periodic CAPS Alerts and informational letters. The association maintains extensive contacts with the written and broadcast media statewide to promote the professionalism of state scientists. Its members receive savings at theme parks, such as Knotts Berry Farm and Marine World Africa USA.
