Established in 1913, the Banning Police Department is a law enforcement agency that employs more than 60 sworn officers and civilians. It offers a variety of services, such as field patrol, fingerprinting, gun permit, animal control, bicycle registration, and accident and crime reporting and investigations. The Banning Police Department maintains a narcotics task force, detective bureau, community special enforcement team, emergency tactical unit and gang task force. The department supports the Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program, which provides a school-based, officer-instructed program that includes classroom instruction and various learning activities. Located in Banning, Calif., the Banning Police Department offers services for issuing of bar cards, house checks, criminal and driver's history checks, and home and business security surveys.
