HistoryIn 1941, on the eve of World War II, Milt Sims was selling industrial gases and supplies for a division of Union Carbide when he decided to open a welding fabrication shop called Absco. In 1945, he transformed Absco into a welding supply distributor and, over time, it became the largest independent distributor in the country. In 1965, Milt retired and sold the business. In 1971, M. Kelly Sims--Milt's son and a former salesman for Absco--started Sims Welding Supply with business partner Bob Marshall. Our Present Today Kelly Sims III, son of M.
