Nactec

NACTEC (Northwestern Alaska Career and Technical Center) is a collaborative initiative between the Bering Strait School District and Nome Public Schools, aimed at preparing students for the workforce. Since its establishment in 2003, NACTEC has trained over 2,000 students through a range of programs that focus on life skills, work readiness, academic skills, and career awareness.

Supported by various partners, including Alaska's Department of Labor and Workforce Development, NACTEC offers courses in aviation, small engine repair, welding, metal fabrication, and more. The center also plays a vital role in fostering connections between education and local industries, ensuring students are equipped with the necessary skills for future employment.
